Magic
The use of Magic inside of Valcoum is very simple.  To cast a spell, simply use the
CAST command followed by the spell code or spell name.  For example, if you wanted to cast the Earth Defense I spell (code E1), you could either enter:  CAST E1 or CAST EARTHDEFENSE.  To cast a spell on another target (player or monster), simply add their name following the spell name/code.  For example:  CAST E1 Cade would cast Earth Defense I on player Cade.

A word of caution about magic
Because of the way magic manifests itsself in Valcoum, whenever you log out of the game, any magic spells you had on will instantly drop!

Banking
Carrying a large amount of currency around with you is a sure way to get you into serious trouble while in combat!  To avoid this, visit a local branch of the Bank of Valcoum.  Once you enter, you can
DEPOSIT funds into your account.  When you need to purchase something and need to get your funds back from the bank, you can WITHDRAW them.  Incase you forget how much you have in the bank, simply INQUIRE with a banking officer and he or she will be glad to help you.

The Party System
What good adventure would be complete without a party to share in the trials and tribulations associated with it?  Valcoum is no different!  Parties of two or more people can be created by using the
FOLLOW or LEAD command.  FOLLOW allows a player to join another's party and follow them from room to room.  LEAD allows the leader of a party to take another player into the group.  As the leader of the group, to part ways with your fellow adventurers, simply use the DISBAND command.  This command will remove everyone from your group.  As an individual, if you wish to part ways with the group you are currently following, use the LEAVE command.  And if you happen to find yourself leading a party of brave adventurers, and want to be reminded who exactly is following your leadership, simply invoke the PARTY command for a quick reminder.

Who's Online?
Sometimes you just want to know who is in Valcoum with you, or you just need to find a Game Master to help you with a problem.  To help with these times, we created the
PLAYERS and STAFF commands.  Typing PLAYERS will display a list of all online players, while typing STAFF will show you a list of all staff members currently working.  If a staff member is busy, or is not online in an official capacity, their names may not be visible on the STAFF listing.

Comments?  Suggestions?  General Feedback? BUGS?!
Have something you'd like to talk to us about?  Or a really awesome suggestion for the game?  Did you find a bug?  (There's always a reward for reporting bugs!)   Then the
FEEDBACK verb is for you!  Simply type FEEDBACK followed by whatever message you want to send to us.  Responses from this command are monitored by System Operators and not by regular Game Master staff which makes this verb a perfect avenue for any concerns you may have about the staff.

Urgent HELP?!
Sometimes you may discover a really, really serious bug, or have a problem that requires immediate response by staff members.  The
HELP command was created for such times.  Simply type HELP followed by whatever message you wish to send to the staff members.  This message is instantly transmitted to all online staff members (even those not currently working).  If no one is online at that moment, your issue will also be logged for review by the System Operators.

And of course... If you want to take a break from the game (though we don't know why you would), You can QUIT.
